2020 Hunting and Fishing Recap

There is little doubt that 2020 will go down as a pretty sucky year for most of us.  It created a lot of struggles, but it also gave Jacob and I the opportunity to spend even more time outdoors exploring North Dakota and enjoying a ton of fishing and hunting.

We spearfished for pike, caught walleyes on the Missouri, caught unbelievable catfish on the Red River, and Salmon on Lake Sakakawea.   We are all ready planning our first outing in February of 2021 to ice fish on Devils Lake.

Hunting season was even better.  After years of sitting silently in a duck boat, blind, or my truck watching me hunt my son got to participate this year!  I will always remember watching him shoot his first duck (and many more).  It was also the first time I ever brought a deer to the taxidermist (but failed to get a good picture).

We’d have loved to put a few more pheasants in the freezer but it was nothing but an awesome 2020 hunting season.  Here is to making 2021 even better (i.e. more hunting and fishing)!
