Earlier this week I was able to take my son and his friend on a quick adventure up north. We spent the afternoon catfishing on the Red River (near Grand Forks). Until this experience my son thought a three-pound fish was big; his first catch was over 18 pounds!
Having never spent any time catching catfish we had contacted a local guide by the name of Brad Durick. His experience paid off. We had multiple 18-pound fish and many more in the 12 – 17 pound range. In about 4 hours we had caught 10 fish and only 1 or 2 of them could have been considered small.
To say the least…we thought it was a very successful afternoon. We decided not to bring any fish home but have a lot of great pictures and memories. We look forward to doing this again next summer!
