100 Days of Gin

My drink of choice is bourbon.  I love Bourbon!  It’s a classic, simple, American drink; it’s appropriate and desirable to drink 365 days a year!  Whether neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail you can’t go wrong with Bourbon.

That said, a little variety in life is good for us.  So, when the snow melts and the temperature warms (about Memorial Day) I start what I call the Hundred Days of Gin!  This approximate 100 days from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day Weekend is the perfect time to enjoy your favorite gin (Hendricks is mine).  Few things are better than enjoying a G&T on the deck, dock, or patio on a beautiful summer night.

Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Keep your gin of choice in the freezer!  Everything about enjoying a G&T is about keeping it as cold as possible.
  2. In fact, keep everything you can in the freezer…slices of lime and the glasses.
  3. A Gin and Tonic must include a slice of lime but is made better with a slice of cucumber and a splash of St. Germain.
  4. Enjoy outside…the drink must be cold but the temperature should be hot!

Enjoy!
